Cars are a big expense for a company, especially when they sit idle in front of the office for hours. That’s why Avis has launched a new service that helps companies make their fleet more efficient and optimize their mobility costs.
“One shared vehicle eliminates the need for nine permanent vehicles! This allows the company to significantly reduce the number of cars it has and still make all the necessary trips,” says Avis CEO Hardi Isok about the new full-service leasing add-on service Carpool, which is essentially a “mix” of Avis Now (location-based rental service via a mobile app) and full-service leasing.
Who is the service suitable for and how does it help companies save on car costs?
MyAvis Baltics – everything in one place
MyAvis Baltics app and myavis.ee you can find all Avis services conveniently in one place. You can rent both cars and campervans, from 30 minutes to five years.
In the spring, Avis launched the Avis Now service, which allows you to rent a car based on location – you can conveniently book a vehicle through the app. The only condition is that the car must be returned to the same place from which you started the trip. However, to make the service even more convenient, Avis recently combined it with full-service leasing. All full-service leasing customers can add the Carpool service to their service package, which allows sharing one car with multiple users.
How does Carpool work?
“For one monthly payment, several people can use one car. The main user can determine who can see and use their car in the MyAvis Baltics app – no one else can,” explains Avis CEO Hardi Isok about how the company can make its fleet more efficient. “The monthly payment does not depend on the number of users – it’s still the same!”
Each car has one main user who can invite other colleagues to use the car through the MyAvis Baltics app. Only invited members can then see a specific vehicle on the map and when it is available. Each user determines when they use the car and return it – this way the company can significantly optimize mobility costs, as the necessary trips are made, but fewer cars are needed.

Who is it for?
The new service is primarily intended for companies whose employees need to make work-related trips from time to time. This helps the company save both money and time. Isok points out some other good reasons to consider a shared vehicle:
- Avis maintains the car. The technical condition of the vehicle is Avis’ responsibility. When the maintenance time is approaching, Avis will inform the customer and take the car to the service center itself.
- No worries about changing tires. Similar to maintenance, Avis also handles tire changes itself – it takes and returns the vehicle.
- One car covers the driving needs of several employees. Instead of the car being parked in front of the house, several colleagues can make the necessary trips with one car, meaning the resource is used better.
- Employee motivation package. The car is, of course, an important part of the motivation package. If an employee can use a new and maintained vehicle at the desired time, his motivation will also increase.
A car when you need it
A stationary car is an expense, and therefore it is important to analyze when and how much the vehicle is actually needed. Avis offers various rental services, which, when combined, can make the fleet significantly more efficient.
“Full-service leasing is a long-term commitment, but short-term leasing is a variable cost,” Isok emphasizes, emphasizing that cost optimization is very important. It is possible that a company does not need ten cars, but one short-term lease and one shared vehicle would be enough.
