Motorhome reminder
To rent an Avis Campers motorhome, you will need to present a valid driving licence and proof of identity. You must be at least 25 years old. If you wish to rent a vehicle on behalf of a company, the contract must be signed by a member of the company’s board of directors or an authorised person, presenting the appropriate authorisation (power of attorney, letter of guarantee, copy of the B-card of the company register).
Avis delivers the motorhome, cleaned and in good technical condition. It is the responsibility of the hirer to carefully inspect the vehicle on collection and to record any damage or defects, otherwise he/she may be liable for any previous damage. The Lessor shall not be liable, directly or indirectly, for any loss or damage which may result from a technical breakdown of the motorhome and which may cause interruption or delay of the journey.
In case you return the caravan with an incomplete or empty tank, you will be charged an additional fee of 2,5€+km for each missing litre of fuel. The lessor has the right to withhold these amounts from the security deposit. Damage caused by misfuelling is covered by the hirer.
Booking, deposit and payment
The booking fee must be paid within 3 days of receipt of the written confirmation or invoice. The hirer may make changes to the reservation up to 60 days before the start of the rental period, provided that the lessor is able to offer an alternative and that the alternative reservation matches the original reservation in value. The booking fee is non-refundable but will be included in the rental fee. No refund will be given in the event of cancellation by the customer.
The deposit is €900, which will be returned to the tenant at the end of the rental period if there are no claims. The rest of the rental fee and deposit must be paid before the start of the rental period, according to the terms agreed in the rental contract.
The rental price includes maintenance, compulsory motor insurance and comprehensive insurance, but excludes the cost of fuel.
Insurance and third party liability
The rental price includes comprehensive insurance (accident, vandalism) with a €900 excess and theft insurance with a 15% excess. Tyres and wheels are not insured and the hirer is fully responsible for any damage to them. If the vehicle is stolen, the renter must provide the keys and registration certificate, and the theft must be reported to the police. In the event of a road accident, the hirer must notify the police and the insurance company, and also inform the lessor. The cost of proceedings for rental damages is €35.
All fines and other claims arising from the actions of the hirer or the users of the car are the responsibility of the hirer. The handling fee for traffic fines is €35.
Delivery and return of the vehicle, rental period
The vehicle will always be delivered and returned at the same place, at Avis headquarters, Peterburi Road 47C. The rental period starts on the first day of the rental period and ends on the last day of the rental period between 10:00 and 12:00, unless otherwise agreed. An additional day’s rental charge will be applied for delays of more than 1 hour.
The vehicle must be returned with a clean interior, the waste tank and toilet cassette emptied. If the vehicle is returned uncleaned and/or the toilet cassette is not emptied, a cleaning fee of €200 will be added to the rental price. Smoking in the camper is strictly forbidden, and fines of €200 apply.
External cleaning is included in the rental price and is carried out by the lessor. When the car is handed over and returned, the parties sign a handover and return certificate. The lessor has the right to lodge a claim later if hidden defects are discovered that could not be detected during the initial inspection. It is not possible to deliver or return the vehicle outside working hours and on weekends.
Varustus
In winter, motorhomes are fitted with winter tyres. All caravans are equipped with GPS devices so that the rental company can monitor the use of the vehicle. Additional equipment will be provided in accordance with the conditions agreed in the rental contract.
Validity of the contract
Every signed contract is binding, even if the tenant does not read it carefully. We recommend that you always read the terms and conditions of the contract carefully before signing. If there are claims, they must be settled through the courts.
Travelling outside Estonia
The renter is not allowed to drive the camper outside the European Union, except in Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein or Andorra. The hirer must indicate the destination of his/her journey, which will be stated in the rental contract. If you wish to travel to other countries, you must notify the rental company in writing at least 14 days before the start of the rental period.
