Charging at Home – Convenient and Affordable

Charging your electric car at home is the most convenient—and often the most cost-effective—way to power your vehicle. As a full-service leasing customer, you can take advantage of a solution where charging is billed at your home electricity rate and payment is handled directly through us—you don’t have to pay anything separately or submit receipts.

How does it work?

  • A home charging station is installed at a single-family home, townhouse, or apartment building.
  • Charge at the same rate as the electricity tariff agreed upon with the company (e.g., the same price as at a gas station in the Alexela network).
  • The only additional charges are a monthly fee or a sign-up fee (e.g., €2.99), which will appear directly on your bill.
  • The charging cost is automatically billed to your company’s account—there is no need to request a separate reimbursement.

Charging on the Go – Speed and Convenience

With an electric car, you don’t have to limit yourself to charging at home. In Estonia and throughout Europe, there is a growing network of public charging stations that allow you to charge quickly and conveniently, even during longer trips.

Alexela offers chargers of various power ratings throughout Estonia:

  • Up to 22 kW – suitable for longer stops, such as during the workday or overnight.
  • Up to 50 kW and up to 160 kW —a good choice if you want to charge your car from 20% to 80% in about 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Up to 400 kW – ultra-fast charging, which can take as little as 10–20 minutes, depending on the car.

💡 The higher the power, the faster the battery charges—but the price per kWh is also higher.

  • up to ~0.59 €/kWh (400 kW)

An additional fee (time-based charge) applies if you leave your car connected to the charger past a certain time:

  • ~0.10 €/min after 90 minutes (slower chargers)
  • ~0.15 €/min after 60 minutes (fast chargers)

How do I pay for charging?
As a full-service leasing customer, you can use your company’s contract with Alexela—charges will be billed directly to your company’s account.

Alexela chargers are located in major cities, along highways, and at service stations.

You don’t need to charge the battery to 100% every day— the 20–80% range is best for the battery’s lifespan. Avoid completely draining the battery, especially during cold winters.

3. Use different charging options

  • At home—comfortable and affordable.
  • At work—if there’s a charging station, take advantage of it.
  • On the go – choose a charger based on its location, power, and price.

4. Make charging a habit, not a chore
Charge your car when it fits into your daily schedule—for example, while you’re at the store, at the gym, or at a meeting. Before a long drive, check the locations and availability of charging stations using apps.
