When you lease a new vehicle, you will receive an offer that includes financing and, in some cases, comprehensive and motor insurance. But these aren’t the only costs a car owner will face. Your new quadricycle needs regular maintenance, repairs, servicing … the list is endless! But there is a simple solution to reduce the “headache” ahead – full-service leasing.
“The goal of full-service leasing is to make the car owner’s life as comfortable and worry-free as possible,” says Olgert Tamm, Head of Avis Estonia Leasing.“Every customer can choose the package they want. It is a tailor-made solution where, in addition to the usual maintenance, the monthly payment for the vehicle can include a car wash.”
But what exactly is this service and for whom is it suitable?
How is it different from leasing?
With a standard lease, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle’s inspection is valid, that maintenance and repairs have been carried out and that the tyres meet the requirements. But wouldn’t it be great if someone did it for you? That’s exactly what Avis full-service leasing allows. Your car will be serviced, your tyres changed (and stored), and you’ll be able to get on with something more important instead of waiting in the workshop lobby.
It’s a convenience service that works for everyone. Although it may seem expensive at first glance, full-service leasing can save you time and money in the long run. Taking into account the time spent on car management, an Avis full-service leasing customer saves seven days a year, and up to five weeks for a five-year period.
Sky is the limit or anything is possible
Avis values long-term customer relationships based on open and personalised communication. Every customer can put together a package that suits them. In addition to the usual maintenance, you can also include a car wash and a door-to-door service (taking the car to the service and returning it) in the monthly fee. Three words best describe Avis full-service leasing: flexible, fast and personalised.“We don’t set any limits. We find a personal solution for both business and private customers ,” says Tamm, citing the example of customers who include a fixed number of washes in the monthly payment. So, if you want, we will take your car, take it to the service and wash and bring it back shiny and well-maintained – you decide!
Long-term savings
At a time of high inflation and rising prices, we also need to talk about money. “A full-service leasing customer doesn’t have to worry because the oil salesman decides to quintuple the price tomorrow – that’s our responsibility,” says Tamm. “For the customer, the monthly payment is fixed for the leasing period and is not affected by inflation and price increases.” He adds that the customer can always make changes to the package during the period – for example, adding services or, conversely, reducing them.
Customers do not have to worry about Euribor either.“We work on the basis of a fixed monthly fee. Also, the fees for comprehensive and motor insurance will not change,” explains Tamm.
On average, the leasing period is 3-5 years. According to Tamme, a car is rarely leased for just one or two years, as the benefits of the service are only realised over a longer period. A four-year period is the most common, as it offers a sweet residual value and a good level of liquidity. But how much is the down payment for the vehicle? This is up to the individual. “From a 0 per cent deposit, up to a percentage or a specific amount chosen by the customer. It is also becoming common to convert your existing car into a deposit,” says Tamm.
At the end of the leasing period, the customer has several options: return the vehicle to Avis and terminate the contract, extend the period, buy the car out or exchange it for a newer one with the help of the Avis sales team.
The service is also suitable for electric car enthusiasts. You can conveniently charge your vehicle with a home charger if you wish. Avis partners will make you an offer, and Avis will include the cost of installing and renting the charger in the monthly payment.
Convertible, sedan … The choice is yours!
Which cars can be included in an Avis full-service lease? The choice is yours – from a BMW 5 Series to a seven-seater family car. There are just a few conditions to consider:
- the maximum age of the vehicle is 8 years;
- a maximum mileage of 75 000 km;
- new or little used.
According to Tamme, there are also customers who don’t know which car they want. But because the Avis-e team is constantly up to date with the market situation, they are able to advise customers according to their budget and preferences.
An accident? Digital solutions help!
If you get into a car accident, you’re likely to be stressed and have lots of questions. Is there anywhere I can get a replacement car? Will the insurance cover it? Do I have car assistance? And what happens if I puncture a tyre on my brand new vehicle – where do I turn?
In the event of the above problems, another plus point of Avis full-service leasing comes into play. Every vehicle comes with Avis’s own 24/7 roadside assistance – and it’s all digital on request. “The customer can digitally order a tow and see on a map how far away the tow driver is – just as convenient as ordering an express taxi,” Tamm introduces. The service works in Estonia and elsewhere in Europe. If there’s a small “scrape” in the car park, for example if you’ve backed into a pole, Avis-e’s digital damage handling comes to the rescue. The customer can call the hotline and make a selection, after which a damage claim form is sent to them by text message, where they can describe what happened and attach pictures. “This saves the car owner about 75 per cent of his time.”
Further information about the claim will also be sent to the customer’s phone. Information on the arrival of spare parts as well as possible repair times will be communicated.
Replacement vehicle of the same class
If the technical condition of your brand new car doesn’t allow you to drive it temporarily, you can get a replacement car from Avis. For an unlimited period – until your four-wheeler is repaired. There are different packages available for the replacement car service. If it’s more expensive, your vehicle will be replaced by a car of the same class. For the lower-priced package, the replacement car is a brand new automatic transmission vehicle.
Normal wear and tear
Another package that the customer can add to the monthly car charge is the “Cost of repairs corresponding to normal wear and tear”. What does this mean?
By this we mean the ‘normal’ consumables – headlamps, bulbs, brake pads and discs. It does not cover unforeseen costs such as replacing shock absorbers and bushes. If you wish, you can have them replaced at the dealership at the discounted price of Avis, a major customer. “Avis has several hundred partners with whom we are happy to share the discounts we have agreed with our customers. Even if you take the minimum package, you still get a share of them,” says Tamm, adding that customers also get discounts on laundry and fuel, for example.
